Club Statement: Member’s Support Bank

We would like to begin by saying that we hope you and your family had a lovely Christmas.

It is safe to say that 2020 has been a very challenging year for the majority of people and we really do hope that 2021 brings lots of positivity and joy to you.

As a member of the club, we completely understand that you will want to know ‘what is going on’ with your gym membership at Inspired Health and Fitness club. As soon as a date is announced that we can reopen, we will. We are ready to go. Although gyms are allowed to be open in tiers 1,2 & 3, a petition was recently set up calling for the Government to allow gyms to open within a tier 4 area. That petition very quickly exceeded the 100,000 signatures required to be considered for debate by the Government. We are still waiting for further information on this but will keep you posted.

Although we have welcomed the Government’s furlough scheme like other businesses, this is the only financial support we have received (aside from loans we have taken) but as this pandemic and the restrictions continue, it is not enough to sustain our small, family run business, during restrictions which prevent us from opening.

We were waiting to hear yesterday, whether the Prime Minister would give some definitive dates on when the Tier 4 restrictions might be relaxed, but it is still unclear, so we are now preparing for the club to be closed for all of January. If this changes, we will of course let you know and re open the gym as soon as possible.
With this in mind, it is too late for us to stop direct debits being taken in January, but we do not expect you to pay for a membership which you cannot use, so of course, you will be owed the time back in our ‘Support Bank’ once we reopen.

If your direct debit is taken in January, you can claim that month back whenever you choose in the future. However, we would like to request your help to support the club. We are simply asking that if you are able to hold off from claiming your owed month back immediately upon reopening and instead can wait a few months, it would not only be hugely appreciated, but also could make a huge difference to our business survival. When you are ready to claim your month back, we must have written notice 15 days prior to your DD being taken, so please email memberships@inspiredfitnessclub.co.uk

As a thank you for being a current member in the support bank, we would like to offer you a free, 30-minute personal training session with one of our instructors plus 6 minutes to use on our sunbed when we reopen. Please talk to a member of our team to claim either of these.

At this stage, we have to wait and see what happens over the next few weeks, but in the meantime we are asking for you to support a local, independent business to carry on providing vital physical and mental services to the community we all live in.
